Addressing the Petrophysical Challenges Relevant to Middle East Reservoirs

Addressing the Petrophysical Challenges Relevant to Middle East Reservoirs

Abstract

Recognising the global importance and unique challenges of Middle Eastern carbonate reservoirs, this workshop will focus its attention on identifying issues and solving problems and meeting challenges specific to these reservoirs. Themes of the workshop will include:

  • Exploration trends
  • Formation evaluation of complex carbonate reservoirs
  • Downhole analysis of fluids
  • Using downhole pressure and fluids identification in reservoir description
  • Geomechanics—modelling downhole stresses, naturally and induced fractures and borehole stability
  • Core analysis and rock properties
  • Surface data logging
  • 3D petrophysics and 3D modelling
  • Placement of wells and geo-steering
  • Sweep efficiency and production monitoring
  • Enhanced oil recovery
  • Evaluation and production of non-conventional resources
  • Current technological advances and future development needs

Objectives

The primary objective of the workshop is to bring together geoscientists, petrophysicists, geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir and production engineers, and others that work in the Middle East to share ideas and best practices. The workshop will seek to create an environment that instigates and enables both informal and direct communication among technology users and providers who share an interest in addressing challenges specific to Middle East reservoirs.

Who Should Attend

  • Petrophysicists
  • Reservoir engineers
  • Production engineers
  • Geomechanics experts
  • Geologists
