Hydraulic Fracture Flowback

Hydraulic Fracture Flowback

About this Workshop

Abstract

This workshop will focus on the mechanisms, tools, and processes of hydraulic fracturing flowback  operations. Load recovery is a key aspect to operational success of a hydraulically fractured well, and  practices can vary significantly between geological settings and basins.

For decades, the technical journals have been filled with the roles of capillary pressure, wettability, and relative permeability in controlling fluid recovery following hydraulic fracturing treatments. Fracture conductivity and initial flow rate has always taken center stage to completion success. Evidence is now mounting that controlled flowback and production management is a critical completion process and is now exacerbated with the increasing number of multiple fracture stimulations and longer-reach laterals.

The workshop session topics will provide opportunities for experts in both surface and subsurface disciplines to analyze, debate, share views, and generate information and knowledge on all aspects of hydraulic fracturing flowback operations.

Session topics include:

  • Flowback fundamentals
  • Regional best practices
  • Alternate fluids fracturing technology
  • Flow back design
  • Diagnostics
  • Completion considerations
  • Panel discussions

Local: San Antonio, Texas, USA
